Atlantic Treat 418 also controls corrosion which could result from copper deposits by chelating any copper introduced by the makeup. This product is effective even under adverse conditions such as high oxygen, low flow velocities or where the system is constructed of different metals. Atlantic Treat 418 Closed System Treatment effectively controls corrosion of ferrous and most non-ferrous metals. If the system contains aluminum compounds, the pH of the treated water should be checked. If the pH is above 8.5, aluminum corrosion may occur since aluminum is an amphoteric metal which is sensitive to highly alkaline conditions. Use sufficient acid, where necessary, to control pH between 8.0 and 8.5 in the presence of aluminum. Keep a minimum of 1000-ppm of Nitrite (PPM as NO2) in the system.
