Rust, Corrosion, and Tarnish Inhibitors
ASCC has formulated a wide range of rust, corrosion, and tarnish inhibitors for manufactured metal products. Atlantic’s developed inhibitors slow the process of oxidation on materials exposed to water and oxygen through the use of fully-synthetic oil-free inhibitors, water emulsifiable soluble oil inhibitors, solvent containing inhibitors, and oil and wax containing inhibitors.
RP 408
Atlantic RP 408 is a water-based spray and immersion corrosion inhibitor and rinse aide to provide temporary rust protection on ferrous and non-ferrous metal components of up to, and in most cases over, 90 days in indoor storage. Atlantic RP 408 is specifically formulated as a borate-free (boron-free) inhibitor for employee safety. Atlantic RP 408 is organic and 100% biodegradable according to present standards. At recommended use levels, Atlantic RP 408 does not interfere with paint adhesion or gauging measurements. Atlantic RP 408’s film is easily rinsed-off during future machining operations and readily combines with common synthetic and semi-synthetic metalworking fluids to perform as an additional inhibitor booster.
RP 416
Atlantic RP 416 is a non-foaming water based compound designed to protect and prevent rust and tarnish on metal prior to painting or further processing. Atlantic RP 416 does not contain hazardous chromates, nitrites, or solvents. The low foam property makes Atlantic RP 416 excellent in spray washer applications as well as dip immersion systems. Atlantic RP 416 prevents oxidation on many surfaces, including brass, bronze, copper, steel, cast iron, and aluminum. Atlantic RP 416 also contains a built-in pH indicator to give a visual indication when a tank has significantly dropped in concentration.
RP 695VS
provide indoor rust protection by leaving a dry, non-oily, non-waxy clear film on ferrous components. Atlantic RPC 695VS may be applied by either conventional recirculating spray, flow coat, pressure spray or immersion. At lower concentrations, the Atlantic RPC 695VS rust protecting film is thin enough not to interfere with normal dimensional measurements. Atlantic RPC 695VS is suitable for use in automatic chemical feeding equipment and is economical to use. At the recommended 10% by volume with water, Atlantic RPC 695VS leaves an almost invisible, water-removable film that provides indoor rust and corrosion protection for up to and in most cases over 100 days on ferrous components. Atlantic RPC 695VS also provides excellent light to moderate duty cleaning in one-stage operations.
RP 295BN
Atlantic RP 295BN is the safest, unique, and most effective engine and DYNO test coolants ever developed. It is an environmentally safe blend of anti-oxidants and mild alkaline buffers designed to provide up to, and in most cases over, one year indoor rust protection by leaving a dry, non-oily, non- waxy clear film on all ferrous and non-ferrous components. Atlantic RP 295BN is completely water soluble, making it rinsable in pressurized, agitated, or heated water if further painting or processing of the component is required. Atlantic RP 295BN provides unequaled rust protection among aqueous, non oil systems, exceeding nitrite amine combinations and some oil systems without the expense, V.O.C.’s, and hazards involved. Atlantic RP 295BN performs by forming a hydrate on the metals surface repelling humidity and accidental water mist contact.
RP 600
Synthetic, water soluble nitrite-free rust inhibitor. Excellent for grinding, light duty machining, and corrosion protection on steel and cast iron.
RP 418
Atlantic RP 418 is a unique blend of antioxidants and water conditioners designed to provide up to 90 days of indoor rust protection by leaving a dry, non-oily, non-waxy clear film on ferrous components. Atlantic RP 418 may be applied by either conventional recirculating spray or immersion. The Atlantic RP 418 rust protecting film is thin enough not to interfere with normal dimensional measurements. Atlantic RP 418 functions as a clear leak test fluid for underwater pressure testing. Atlantic RP 418 also functions as a sealing rinse for ferrous metal prior to painting for preventing flash rusting during dry down and improve corrosion resistance during storage.
RP WD9
Atlantic RP WD9 is a water-based rust inhibitor emulsion of film-forming cross-linked polymers. Product is a low-odor evaporative inhibitor designed for long-term rust protection under indoor and protected outdoor storage conditions. Atlantic RP WD9 will dry at the speed of water, which causes the protective film to set semi-dry to the touch so parts can be handled. Atlantic RP WD9’s environmentally green coating is low-oil, solvent-free, VOC-free, and water repellant once dry.
Atlantic RP WBRP
Atlantic RP WBRP is a low-foam, soluble oil corrosion preventive designed for both rust protection and removal of light grease, cutting oils, drawing oils, coolants, metal chips and a wide variety of other shop soils. Due to its unique blend of ingredients, Atlantic RP WBRP imparts a micro-thin film providing excellent corrosion protection to all types of metals, and is uniquely titratable for ease of concentration control. Atlantic RP WBRP readily emulsifies with water, forming stable dilutions capable of operating at low and high temperatures in both spray and dip applications. Residues of Atlantic RP WBRP are compatible with conventional lubricants and process fluids such as transmission fluids and glycol. Atlantic RP WBRP will not cause discoloration or stains on soft metals. Atlantic RP WBRP primarily uses in immersion systems after zinc, iron, and manganese phosphate applications and in equipment test stands as a corrosion inhibitor.

Atlantic RP 520
Atlantic RP 520 is a low-foam soluble oil corrosion preventive specifically formulated as part of a heavy zinc and oil treatment. Due to its unique blend of ingredients, Atlantic RP 520 imparts a dry, micro-thin film providing excellent corrosion protection to all types of metal. Atlantic RP 520 is titratable for ease of concentration control. Atlantic RP 520 readily emulsifies with water, forming extremely stable dilutions capable of operating at low and high temperatures in both spray and immersion applications. Atlantic RP 520 will not cause discoloration or stains on soft metals
Atlantic Solv HF
Atlantic SOLV HF is a low-foam emulsion cleaner designed for removal of grease, cutting oils, drawing oils, coolants, metal chips and a wide variety of other industrial soils. Due to its unique blend of ingredients, Atlantic Solv HF imparts a micro-thin film providing excellent corrosion protection to all types of metal and is uniquely titratable for ease of concentration control. Atlantic Solv HF readily emulsifies with water, forming stable dilutions capable of operating at low and high temperatures in both spray and dip applications. Residues of Atlantic Solv HF are compatible with conventional lubricants such as transmission fluids, etc. Atlantic Solv HF will not cause discoloration or stains on soft metals. Atlantic Solv HF is designed for use in single or multi stage industrial spray washers or agitated immersion systems, and is suitable for use on ferrous and non-ferrous components.

Heavy duty lubricant, parting compound, and inhibitor for zinc phosphated and steel parts. Complete (200) hour salt spray protection.
Atlantic RP 624HD

This product will provide additional lubricity to phosphated surfaces. Use after electroplating, paint removal, cleaning or any other “wet” chemical process to prevent rust. ATLANTIC RP 1303LT can be used for long-term indoor and outdoor storage applications. ATLANTIC RP 1303LT deposits a thin, transparent, waxy film that will not interfere with machined tolerances and has low moisture transmission, even when in contact with water. RP 40WD
Atlantic RP 40WD is a low odor, evaporative rust inhibitor designed for long-term rust protection under indoor and protected outdoor storage conditions. Six to twelve months of indoor corrosion protection is expected. The long-term active ingredient is a non-volatile, semi-viscous oil that remains on the surface, providing lubrication and protection from moisture. Atlantic RP 40WD’s film is barium-free, virtually invisible, non-staining, and water repellant.
RP 2606HD

This product will provide additional lubricity to phosphated surfaces. Use after electroplating, paint removal, cleaning or any other “wet” chemical process to prevent rust. Atlantic RP 2606HD can be used for long-term indoors and covered outdoor storage applications. Product laboratory tested to achieve up to and in most cases over 160-hours of salt spray when properly applied.
RP 2606EV
Faster drying, dark grey to black rust inhibitor to assist in color-blending manganese and zinc-manganese phosphate to a uniform darker color. Used to prevent rust on ferrous substrates. Atlantic RP 2606EV is a unique corrosion preventative based on an inorganic-organic complex that is highly polar and forms an excellent bond to ferrous surfaces. This product will provide additional lubricity to phosphated surfaces. Use after electroplating, phosphating, paint removal, cleaning or any other “wet” chemical process to prevent rust. Atlantic RP 2606EV can be used for long-term indoor and short-term covered outdoor storage applications. Will provide up to and in many cases over 120-hours of salt spray.
RP 1300
Atlantic RP 1300 is a solvent-based, water-displacing corrosion preventive formulated to provide long-term indoor protection. This product deposits a long-lasting, thin residual oil film which is removed using an alkaline cleaner, steam, or vapor degreaser. Atlantic RP 1300 will provide protection to ferrous and non-ferrous parts for up to 18-months indoor storage and/or short term covered outdoor protection. It can be diluted with oil or solvent to produce a product which will give shorter protection periods at a lower cost. RP 2606VCI
Use to prevent rust on ferrous substrates. Atlantic RP 2606VCI is a unique corrosion preventative based on an inorganic-organic complex that is highly polar and forms an excellent bond to ferrous surfaces. This product will provide additional lubricity to phosphated surfaces. Use after electroplating, paint removal, cleaning or any other “wet” chemical process to prevent rust. Atlantic RP 2606VCI can be used for long-term indoor and covered outdoor storage applications. Atlantic RP 2606VCI has a low viscosity, which provides good penetration and drainage, and contains VCI (volatile corrosion inhibitor) additives to better control corrosion when parts are boxed, wrapped, or enclosed in plastic.

RP 1306EP
:Used to prevent rust and add lubricity on ferrous substrates. Atlantic RP 1306EP is a unique corrosion preventative based on an inorganic-organic complex that is highly polar and forms an excellent bond to ferrous surfaces. This product will provides added lubricity to phosphated surfaces when critical make-and-break lubricity testing is mandated. Use after cleaning, phosphating, or any other “wet” chemical process to prevent rust. Atlantic RP 1306EP can be used for long-term indoor and short term covered outdoor storage applications. Containing specialty additives and lubricants to extend ‘make-and-break’ failure testing beyond current levels at the same phosphate coating weight. Atlantic RP 1306EP has a low viscosity, which provides excellent penetration into the phosphate coating.
RP OD2
Heavy-duty petroleum based product specifically developed for long-term outdoor storage and oversees transport.
Atlantic RP 1400
Atlantic RP 1400 is a petroleum-based, water-displacing corrosion preventive formulated to provide exceptional long-term indoor protection. This product deposits a long lasting, oily residual film which is to both ferrous and non-ferrous parts for up to 18 months indoor storage and up to 10-years bagged storage with VCI paper. Atlantic RP 1400 was developed for exterior and interior corrosion protection of machinery, gears, bearings, and bare metallic surfaces. It can be diluted with oil or solvent to produce a product which will give shorter protection periods at a lower cost. Product will not separate.
Atlantic RP 1440
Non-emulsifying straight-oil corrosion inhibitor. Solvent-free, non-drying. Thin, oily repairable film with excellent humidity protection.
Atlantic RP 1701V
Atlantic RP 1701V is a petroleum-based, water-displacing corrosion preventive formulated to provide exceptional long-term indoor and covered outdoor protection. This product deposits a long lasting, oil- based film which is completely effective for both ferrous and non-ferrous parts for up to 24-months indoor storage and up to 10-years bagged storage with VCI paper. Atlantic RP 1701V was developed for exterior and interior corrosion protection of machinery, gears, bearings, and bare metallic surfaces. Atlantic RP 1701V contains both highly effective film forming and vapor phase inhibitors (VCI).
RP 6510HF
Atlantic RP 6510HF is an oil dispersed, solvent-based, water-displacing corrosion preventive formulated to provide exceptional long-term indoor protection. This product deposits a long-lasting, thin residual film which is easily removed using an alkaline cleaner or vapor degreaser. Atlantic RP 6510HF will provide protection to ferrous and non‑ferrous parts for up to 24-months indoor storage and/or short term outdoor protection. It can be diluted with oil or solvent to produce a product which will give shorter protection periods at a lower cost. Atlantic RP 6510HF is formulated to pass 6-hour salt spray tests.
